A Doctor with a Fresh Spin on Health- Meet Dr. Elliott
As a doctor in Towne Lake, (Woodstock, Ga), Dr. Lá-Shaun Elliott, MD, MPH, helps people meet their health and wellness goals. Most importantly, she is the founder of Hale Healthcare , designed to focus on Whole Body Health and Beauty. Too often our experience at doctor visit has been less than exceptional. As a result, after speaking with numerous people who had the same experience, Dr. Elliott found her purpose: to open a practice that looks to treat the whole patient and provide value to them.
In her experience the doctor-patient partnership is the best way to help patients with their health concerns. Further more, she is a doctor who works with all her patients to develop personal care plans. Finally, Dr. Elliott works to help people get back to what they enjoy with enough energy to face the demands of life.
Dr. Elliott is a Board Certified in Preventive Medicine . In addition, she obtained her degree from Rutgers. While completing her residency at Stony Brook Hospital, she achieved her Master’s Degree in Public Health from Columbia University. Most noteworthy, she has many certifications that allow her to perform primary care treatment, skin, hair, hormone, aesthetic medicine, sexual dysfunction, weight loss, and addiction therapy. Especially relevant, she has experience with complex patients from diverse backgrounds as a medical doctor.
"I think it is good to have a holistic approach. Everyone wants to feel heard and understood. Most of all, I believe people want to know what is going on in their bodies. Because of that, I like taking the time to explain the reasons behind why someone should take this medicine or make that habit change. Also, I give as many details as I can to help people understand and not feel lost or out of the loop. Sometimes, I think people feel a test is ordered or they are sent somewhere for no reason.
Because of this, it is part of my job to make those things clear on why you're sick and how my treatment plan will make it better. In addition, I think it is important to be upfront and discuss the costs of tests and treatments. So, I do my best to find out what their price would be so that I can have an honest discussion about what a patient can afford. Since it is a reality that health and wellness costs money as it is today, I try to get creative with choices and options. Therefore, with all the information, people can make the best decision that works for them.
Lastly, people need an environment that they feel welcome in. I have a theory that if you walk into a place and you feel good, you will have a good experience. Due to that, there are details that we pay attention to in our clinic to help with that. Probably simple things like putting up art, playing music, and keeping the place smelling nice are helpful. As a result, we try to keep it a place that seems like healing can happen."
